Island School Gala Fundraiser

The Annual Island School Fundraiser has a great silent auction that helps support the school, I have donated two paintings. There are always wonderful donations at this function.

I have been drawing with a group down at Jill Landis's Tiki Hut in Hanalei, we call it Mr. Sketchy.We have a model and we are using drawing media.You can see the results on Jills blog thetikigoddess.com.

Aloha to all of you who came out in the miserable weather to attend the Art Show,many thanks to Mark and Mary Lou from Ono catering for there wonderful job. It was great to see all the north shore artists together, and the work certainly reflected the beautiful surroundings of our island. We hope to see more artists participate next year.

Have been trying some new techniques suggested by Richard Robinson of New Zealand for dealing with the atmospheric conditions prevalent in Hawaii. I hope that they give some indications of the way the light is filtered here. Currently we are battling a vog cloud and some rainy weather, making painting out quite a challenge.

Tsunami Alert

Ther is nothing like living in Hawaii,we had a massive tsunami alert last night Hanalei is in the innundation area so it had to be evacuated lucky no big wave came and today is just a day with no sleep.
