Artist Bio
Anne Schneider Born in New York in 1946 I grew up in the urban landscape of the 1950’s, this has continued to influence my painting, even though I have resided in Hawaii for the last 20 years. My educational background includes two years as a fine arts major at C.W. Post College and graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from New York Institute Of Technology in 1980. I worked at Matt Lamber Architects and Bentel and Bentel Architects prior to moving to Hawaii where I worked as a Land Use Planner for the County of Kauai. Prior to that as a young person I studied at the NY Art Students League and with Umberto Romano in Rockport Mass.
My work in Kauai as a land use planner, has allowed me to have a unique glimpse into painting the landscape. There is no way you can ignore the basic natural beauty. My work been included in a book on Psychedelic Art published by Grove Press by Master’s and Huston under the name Ayne Palmer. And was included in a show of the same name at the Easthampton Gallery NY in 1967. I still continue to explore this abstract work.
I have shown here in Hawaii with the Kauai Society of Artists and was included in the 2000 Artists of Hawaii at the Honolulu Academy. You can see my work at Hot Rocket in Hanalei. My work is in collections worldwide. |
